Course Description

This course will empower you with knowledge about how you can build beautiful dashboards and render specific UI to the user using NextJs and TailwindCSS. When you are done with this 2 hour course, you will be able to integrate the knowlege you get into building real-word production-ready applications for yourself, to add to your portfolio, or for your clients.

Goals

In this course, you will learn how to build a production-ready invoicing application using NextJs for the base framework, TailwindCSS to style your components and Clerk to add user authentication.

You will also learn how to use Next 14 with server components, as well NextJs routing.

Here are the full learning objectives:

  1. Integrate Clerk authentication
  2. Build a welcoming homepage
  3. Display specific buttons for whether users are logged in or not
  4. Style components using TailwindCSS
  5. Work with .env variables
  6. Learn how to deploy an application that has .env variables
  7. Build server components
  8. Use NextJs routing
  9. Use catch-all routes in NextJs
  10. Deploy the finished app to the internet

Prerequisites

I have made the course as simple as I can, but you will do well to have the following:

  1. Fundamentals of HTML, CSS and JavaScript - check out MDN Refresher Docs for a quick overview
  2. A basic understanding of how a React Application works - check out https://react.dev to get started
  3. NodeJs installed on your system - check out https://nodejs.org to install
  4. Git installed on your system - check out https://git-scm.org to install
  5. A code editor of your choice such as Atom, Webstorm or VSCode
  6. An internet connection
