Can hybrid animals reproduce?

Hybrid animals cannot reproduce. Hybrids such as Mules and hinnies cannot produce viable gametes. This is because of the presence of extra chromosome which cannot make a homologous pair at meiosis. The meiosis gets disrupted, thus the viable sperm and eggs are not formed in hybrids.
