A football match is being played at night in a stadium with flood lights ON. You can see the shadow of a football kept at the ground but cannot see its shadow when it is kicked high in the air. Explain.
If the distance between the object and the screen is very far then the shadow of the object is not caught. Here ground acts as a screen and the football is an object. When a football is kicked very high in the air, the distance between the football and the ground $(screen)$ is very long, and the shadow of the football does not appear. This is because the farther the object is moved from the screen, the smaller the shadow will become, and eventually it will disappear completely.
